SHAI EZRA

ABOUT
Film Maker . Editor . Producer .
Born and raised in the quiet town of Neve Monoson in central Israel, I’ve always had film in mind and a passion for storytelling. Now based in south Tel Aviv, I work as an independent filmmaker.

I'm a graduate of the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University. My journey began back in high school, where I first fell in love with cinema—and I never looked back.

Over the years, I’ve taken on many roles in the industry: independent film director and writer, video editor, After Effects animator, assistant director, script supervisor, and seasoned location scouter and manager. My work has contributed to acclaimed Israeli productions such as Shtisel, Maniac, The Art of Waiting, Honeymood, The Lesson, Home, Hammam, Halisa and more.

I also previously served as the Production Manager of the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund (GMFF), working closely with the ministry of culture of Israel and many Creators, Producers and Publishers.

When I’m not deep in a shoot or scouting the perfect location, you might find me working as a city tour guide in Tel Aviv, sharing insights about the city’s culture, history, and everyday life.

I'm a Gamer at heart, a dedicate player of both Video Games and Board Games.
